Lectors are entrusted with proclaiming the Word of God for the Christian assembly at Mass. Lectors must be actively participating in the sacramental life of the Church. Workbooks for preparation at home are provided, along with training in the use of the microphone, careful enunciation and eye contact, rate of speech, and proper posture and movement. Lectors serve about once every two months.
